On September 22nd 2018 XW Halloween Blast went to Dead Rising Extreme Haunted House, located at 13624 S Cicero Ave, Crestwood, IL 60445. Tickets were $20 per person. Due to it being an extreme haunt, you MUST SIGN A WAIVER! It is 18+ for a reason. They may touch you, they WILL throw things on you and at you. Bring extra clothes! I recommend wipes or something too. It took 20 minutes to walk through the entire Haunted House. This special event was made to entertain not only just the customers but also the actors and actresses themselves. When we first got to the haunted house we were approached by a line actor. His name was “Not Blade” and he joked around with us until we were ready to go into the haunted house. We all thought we were gonna go together, but boy were we wrong; they split us up. Then “Not Blade” proceeded to take us into an elevator that bounced a ton! When we finally got into the haunted house the first room we entered was the chapel with a priest named “Father Tom”. The priest had us sit down…that was the first surprise. When we sat down in the pew, and I instantly felt a moist, sticky coldness. I instantly tried to move thinking I sat in water and that I was the only one, but I looked at the pew in front of me and behind me. Every seat was covered in blood. The priest told us the rules of the house, he even sniffed us and rubbed blood all over our faces to “bless” us. Next part of the haunted house I remember we were introduced to a couple and not even 3 seconds into the room, we instantly got even more sticky and dirty. One of the actresses made me wash my hands in blood and threw flour at me. In the next room there was a clown who gave us a choice: either we had to drink the mysterious drink or pour it over a friend. He gave us 3 seconds to decide. Since the haunted house was a maze we totally got lost. We met a doctor who measured our heads and screamed at us for a bit and someone we couldn’t see poured blood and other sticky substances on us. Lastly, we have the clown room. I personally got thrown onto a wheel, tied up and blindfolded. I got super sticky and dirty then got shoved into a box and spun around. I somehow ended up outside in their parking lot when I was let out. All and all, Dead Rising’s extreme haunt is not your typical haunted house. They really do add an extreme effect to it. I enjoyed it immensely. It was great! I would 100% go back again! 10/10 guys! Great job!
