The time through the haunt was 25 minutes

Basement of the Dead is one of the best haunted houses that I personally have ever been to. I was so scared at one point, I actually ran through the last few rooms. Truth is they really got me good and when I tell you that you will be uneasy, I mean it. There is no way to stay calm going through and coming out of that haunted house. I was extremely scared and calming down afterwards took a bit of time. Alright, enough about me and my terror, let’s get back to the haunt. There are 2 parts to the haunt, the basement where you enter (and my god, is it dark down there) and the 3D clown house full of clowns and a lot of pop up animatronics. At least you get a flashlight this time, even though it’s black light. The entire time going through was hell for me because along with the fact it is already dark and there are strobe lights, I wear glasses and they were fogging up bad and made the experience even scarier. The actors there do a great job performing; not only the ones inside the haunt, but the line actors outside. They are constantly scaring people and keeping them in line with chain saws, a clown car and music played by the DJ. There is one actor who is outside who is dressed all in black and looks like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family who throws this head at you. I actually thought he would hit me too. The pop up scares throughout the haunted house were constant, you literally had no idea what would happen around the next corner and it keeps you on edge. I haven’t been this scared since my first time going to a haunted house when I was 9. The second part was like a bad trip with the darkness and face paint illuminated by the flashlight. Basement of the Dead has done a very good job this year and I can’t wait to see what they will do next! Make sure you come take a look at Basement of the Dead in Aurora, you will NOT be dissapointed! Also, starting Friday October 5th they will have a small carnival with games and activities for everyone, kids and adults alike! They also have a 5 minute escape room trailer along with their carnival. We had a sneak peek at both and had a blast! You will not survive the Horror of October here at Basement of the Dead!
