Hayride of Horror was our first hayride haunt and we loved it! This attraction is located in Dellwood Park. As you walk into the park, you will see concession stands, an escape room and a movie screen playing horror movies. Now Hayride of Horror has two attractions: the hayride and Curse of the Bayou which is like a haunted house. We hit the hayride first on our trip. What makes this hayride amazing is that it takes you through the scenes in every section of the park. They had different scenes like a junkyard, a cornfield with scarecrows, a circus, and sometimes, the actors would just come out of the forest. A lot of the time, the actors would jump on the hayride and try to scare people as the hayride was moving! Another thing that was amazing was Hayride of Horror had little kids acting! Now these little kids were amazing. I don’t know who trained them, but they were really good! In fact, all the actors at hayride of horror did an amazing job! The scarecrows did not move until the hayride left. Next thing you know, they are on the hayride with you! When we got to the monk area, there was ritual going on. Then, after we move away, the monks follow the hayride chanting with a book in their hands that had eyes that would blink! All and all, the hayride was an amazing experience!
Next, we went to Curse of the Bayou. Now, the whole haunt is outside, meaning there is no roof over your head. It starts you off where you meet a Vaudun Priestess who had two zombies on chains as her pets. She tells you to pick one of the three doors. You have no clue what horrors await you behind the three doors. This haunt is infested with zombies! The only problem I had with this haunt is that it wasn’t long enough! I wanted to see more! It felt too short. The Curse of the Bayou was good it was just too short.
Hayride of Horror was an amazing place to visit! We can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
