House of Torment Chicago is recognized as one of the best haunted houses in the country. No, I’m serious, it’s legit scary. You can barely see because there is so much fog and you get lost easily in the dark as it’s like a maze. Watch out for Slenderman as he roams the lines while you are waiting to get inside! In line, you are accompanied by three actors or actresses in costumes. Now is your time to get those group selfies and post them on social media! Prepare yourself before entering the haunt as you will walk through darkness or a foggy room. They have three attractions inside:
Survive the Night – Patient Zero
Dead by Dawn
The ShadowRealm – SLENDERMAN
If you can keep your eyes open and adjust to the dark, you are off to a great start. You will be lost as there are many stops along the way that you have to figure out whether to turn left or right whilst zombies come closer to you. The actors did a fantastic job scaring me, but still respecting my space. As the lights flicker off and on you will find yourself in a dark school hallway. Those four best years of your life are soon to resurface by walking through disgusting bathrooms, and getting lost in the library. After you catch your breath, you will wait in a line for the final haunt. The line was not that long and while waiting you can finally check out the props and decorations as you are about to enter Slenderman’s realm. The best thing about this shadow land is you don’t know where you are walking. I literally walked into a wall! The only thing you can do is close your eyes and use your hands to guide yourself through. However, be cautious as Slenderman is following closely! The rest is to be experienced for yourself. House of Torment truly scared me shitless as I screamed throughout the haunt attracting zombies, and Slenderman. Grab your friends and walk through the maze and find your way out alive! I will definitely be coming back this year as I need to see more of their rooms because there is just so much to check out. You can tell House of Torment Chicago really put in the time and dedication to make these rooms. FOR TICKETS CLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW!!!!
