Midnight Terror Review

Midnight Terror Haunted house is located at 5520 W 111th St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.

Tickets are $25 General Admission and VIP tickets are $35. This haunt as a whole took about

15 minutes to get through going through VIP on our run through and they had a full house

Tonight.

Midnight Terror was a good haunt. We didn’t have a lot of interaction with line actors because we had VIP, but there was an actor named “Gator”  I couldn’t hear about 95% of what he said and just gave him wishy washy answers and kudos to you man, you stayed in character and didn’t get frustrated with me. I would say if the music could be turned down a tad it would be great for your line actors. His acting would have probably been good if I could hear what he said. He screamed in my ears and I got NOTHING. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the acting inside of the haunt.  A lot of the actors just followed us screaming. They would follow you still just screaming and not even having lines. It was becoming slightly irritating. I did however enjoy their story line. I won’t spoil everything and give it all away, but I can give you a taste. Typical girl with abusive daddy issues. No one helped her even though they knew things were not alright. She finds something in her woods to help her summon a few friends to help teach daddy and those who turned a blind eye to her a lesson. Each room is based on one part of this story or another and I can definitely appreciate a haunt that really sticks with it’s guns. Most haunts take a concept story and add random things over time and try to force a fit. There was a room or two that did speak to me. There was one room with three girls that were chanting the girl’s name. They looked like ritual sacrifices. I can’t really describe why but it felt almost like a holy place, like a church or temple of some sort though the room had columns and was fairly open. The other room that caught my eye had literally NO ONE was in it. I was actually confused at first because I’ve seen rooms with the same concept and they are fantastic for hiding pop outs. That might actually be their reasoning for not having anyone, what with that concept being used as such so often. There was a fountain in this room that I thought was a beautiful and unique touch. This room was more soothing than scary, which might put some of you on edge because what better way to scare someone than to put them at a false sense of ease? It was hauntingly beautiful. In the end, I believe what this haunt was lacking in acting was more than made up for in scenery and plot.  I look forward to visiting you again next year and seeing what you come up with next.
