Total time it took to go through the haunted house was 25-30 minutes.
The Massacre Haunted House is a pretty big haunted house to go through considering the exterior. The first thing out of my mouth when we arrived was, “Are we in a strip mall?”. You have to go all the way around back on foot as the front of the building is their escape rooms. The line service was short due to the fact we had come late to the haunt, but that’s not on them. That was totally us as we were coming from a previous haunt. What line acting we had was decent, considering at that point it was pretty much an escort in. The haunt is a maze and it’s really hard to see in the beginning rooms and corners because it is very dark. The design must be very intricate because even though I have a great sense of direction, there are so many turns that I managed to lose my “personal north”. One part I liked was that the actors stay with you and follow you out of their rooms while still being in character. What really got me scared was the train room. The horn and the lights randomly came on when you weren’t expecting it, and the whole thing comes at you. I think the only thing that I would change is the speed it comes at you. If it were a little faster, your fight or flight instinct would kick in with that adrenaline rush and scare the crap out of people! The second half of the haunt you are in the middle of the maze and you reach this clown standing by a bus where you receive 3D glasses. The paint on the walls really popped and every actor in there is a clown. For any of you with coulrophobia? Yeah, this is probably your worst nightmare. I really don’t like clowns and this part made me really uneasy. What was really trippy was the tunnel because my sense of balance is messed up and I almost fell. Still, it was a very fun and scary haunt. I would gladly go again. Please come down to The Massacre Haunted House because you certainly won’t survive the horror of October!
