Abandoned Haunted House Complex is celebrating its 10th anniversary. This haunt has 3 attractions to it: Ambush, Hysteria, and Stalker. Not only does it have 3 attractions, but it also has axe throwing, a food stand, and a bar. Now you can go anytime you want, BUT at 6:45 they have a show called the uprising. What is the uprising? It is where they release all the monsters out into the crowd!! This is so awesome to experience, you must check this out for yourself. Remember if you are not there by 6:45, you will miss it!!! The line acting was incredible. They really go out of their way to interact with every single customer. Oh! If you are thinking about going to the bathroom in peace? Think again. We had one creature banging his head on the bathroom door!! It was also fun to see the characters interact with each other. As the one actor was banging on the bathroom door, he tried getting one of the clowns to come over, and the clown goes “your not my boss!!!”. The line actors at abandoned are so entertaining to watch. They even interact with little kids. So if you are a parent, the owners say “it’s up to your discretion to bring kids below the age of 10, because the characters are scary and their humor isn’t G or PG rated. We had the name of the characters we interacted with written down, but somehow we lost it. We are truly sorry to the line actors. You know who you are and keep up the great work!
The first haunt we checked out was Stalker. Stalker was 25 minutes. It was honestly so creepy! I screamed 5 times! Be sure to wear appropriate shoes! When we walked up to the house we were greeted by Farmer Jones who asked for my name. I told him it was Karen, and he wanted me to let the world know “don’t come here unless you are a Karen.” Then Hagrid came. That wasn’t his name, but that’s what he reminded me of. Both of them were playing off each other and they did a wonderful job! Farmer Jones called David (the Halloween Blast owner) “pretty mouth”…whatever that means. Finally, when we were allowed into the house we saw a cat man. He was so funny. I was not expecting him to meow at us. They did a really great job in the chicken coop, because I really felt like I was on a farm. They had the smells and everything!! The last part I’ll tell you about is the corn field! The corn field was so creepy! The name stalker really fits with the corn field! Characters were everywhere ! They jumped out from unexpected places. Most characters are on the left or right side of you but they have characters above! I felt like I was being followed around by characters and I tried to figure out when the next pop out was and it was always the place you least expected. They will grab you below your knee like touch your foot or brush past your leg. I was not expecting that and I screamed so loud. They did a wonderful job that I highly recommend you go to Stalker because you will absolutely not be disappointed! A fun fact: all that corn is real! They actually harvest that themselves.
The second haunt is Hysteria. Hysteria took 15 mins to walk through. Now the story behind this attraction is that you’re going through a time travel portal to different places. Places like the forest, a funhouse, Egypt, and the medieval times. What makes this cool is that the location can change. Why? Because it’s time travel!! You can end up anywhere because in the beginning they tell you what is going to happen. We also ended up in a strip club. YES A STRIP CLUB!!! The Stripper put her leg out in front of our reviewer and stopped her in her tracks and asked her if she wanted to play a game. Then told her, “Let’s play a friendly version of limbo”. The actor killed that part. It was funny and fun. Another part of hysteria I want to touch on is the funhouse. The Clowns were amazing. As we were trying to find our way through the maze, the clowns would play tricks on us. There is so much more to talk about hysteria but we got to move on to the Ambush haunt.
The third and final haunt is Ambush. The walk through time was about 11 mins. After you get out of Hysteria, you go straight into the waiting line for Ambush. This part of the haunt is like intense startle-scares, with “loud noises” as Abandoned describes it. The music is loud, they have air cannons, and loud horns sounds that go off when you least expect it. As we walked into the waiting area, we were greeted by Sister Stella. She looked at us and said it looked like we were very naughty. She then told us to put our hands on the wall and spanked us with an old wooden paddle. We knew right then and there we were in for a wild ride. As we entered Ambush, we walked into a church talking about our lord and savior Jesus. This was creepy as hell, because there were demonic nuns walking around and it was very uncomfortable. Abandoned did a great job making you feel uncomfortable as soon as you walked in. Later on, we walked into a prison cell block where an inmate begged us to stay so they could show us a good time, if you know what I mean.
This is just a taste of what to expect from Abandoned, but there is so much more that we didn’t say. That is for you to check out for yourself. We had such a blast there. This is their 10th year for Abandoned Haunted House Complex. So what are you waiting for? Go check them out and while you’re at it, say hi to our friend Farmer Jones!!
