Halloween Blast went to visit Dungeon of Doom. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Once we got inside, we saw a wall break open revealing the Dungeon of Doom 25th  anniversary. This was so amazing!!! They had a  projector showing images on the wall like upcoming events, trivia and movie clips. It was amazing how they had the projector images that looked so awesome. In the lines, they had a clown who would pull people from the crowd and make you dance with her in front of everyone. They also had one actor who had green tubes hanging everywhere and was carrying a keg of some kind on his back. This guy had so much energy!! He was running back and forth across the waiting area, jumping over walls. It was unbelievable. Then our favorite part…we meet Rektal Trauma, the clown who has his stomach painted. I asked for a picture and he said ok…as long as he can put his sweaty titty on my shoulders. Well, I agreed and it was NASTY!!! Hey, at least I got my awesome picture with Rektal!!!!

The walk through took 40 minutes for us to walk the entire haunt. Dungeon of Doom has above scares and below scares, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and keep your eyes peeled wide open! Now, we entered the haunt where we had to walk through a tunnel that reminded me of a sewer, but then it led into a cage. The cage was spinning with all these cool colors on the cage wall with changing images. This was awesome to experience!! They told us the rules, and then it spun and you ended up in another room! Now there is a man sitting in the chair with a gun attached to switches. He tells you to flip one of the switches. One will open the door and set you free. The other switch will blow the guy’s head off. Will you push the right one???? One of my favorite rooms was the sewers. One of our reviewers hates rats and cockroaches and they had them EVERYWHERE! The sounds in the sewer made things feel super real, and the horrible smells just added to it. There was a sewer drain that you had to walk through and the floor was vibrating, making a very loud noise that would make you jump in the sewer drain.

So I want to talk about the hospital area. My favorite part was the shower room with the nurse. The room was empty, when all of a sudden the nurse pops out of nowhere! I thought that the cast did a great job of working 2 rooms at one time. One of the other rooms we thought was empty when we walked past, when all of a sudden we heard one of our reviewers screaming because the nurse waited just long enough to make us think it was an empty room; popping out at the reviewer in the back of the line. A funny part that happened at Dungeon of Doom was when we were walking through the pig  area and David and Taiwan ran into Leather Pig Face. Well, Leather Pig face stopped David (Owner of Halloweenblast)  and made him kiss a human prop head. Although they didn’t get away so fast because Leather Pig Face stopped them and said to Taiwan and David “KISS EACH OTHER NOW.” Karen turned around to see their faces and she said it was a pretty priceless look on their faces.  Now you’re wondering: Did David and Taiwan kiss….?  Your answer is no.

Before we wrap this up, let me tell you the thing that stuck out to me the most, the above scares! There was fog above us! Usually you see fog below you, but this time we got scared from above!. I want to say there were 2…maybe 3 actors working that huge fog maze. These guys did a fantastic job working that room. They will reach down and try to grab you. The thing is, you can’t see through the fog above, so as you are walking you see this hand come through the fog. It’s so damn creepy!!

This was a 40 minute haunt and there was so much more to the Dungeon of Doom. They turn 25 this season, what we saw that night when we walked through was absolutely amazing. To see the fog over your head to get above scares, was absolutely shocking. We have never seen another haunt do that. Plus the music and sounds in the haunt are fantastic. They put speakers all throughout the haunt from above you to below. So when you walk in the rooms, it will sound like something is above or all around you. There are also speakers below that make the floor shake. There are all different kinds of flooring in that haunt that will throw you off from a sinking into the ground feeling, to feeling the ground vibrating, and to where it will feel like you’re going to fall. The owners and staff of Dungeon of Doom are alway thinking of stuff that has never been done before. They always want to bring new experiences for everyone that has never been done before. As we talked to the co-owner Tony and Jonathan (the man who makes magic happen behind the scenes and great videos), they told us that they have bigger plans for the years to come. Everyone, including the haunters, did an amazing job. So what are you waiting for? Go check out the Legendary Dungeon of Doom celebrating 25 years!!
