When we arrived, we were entertained by a DJ who played music. It was pretty packed, so it reminded me of being in a club! Be sure to wear a mask! While waiting in line, we met Oliphant & Isac! Oliphant is always ready to come out & play and take a million photos with Karen!
Sadly, Covid is still around BUT Midnight Terror does a good job of spacing people out once you get inside the haunt. Their queue lines are actually spaced out by group, which is even better because it allows the haunters to give you one on one interactive scares!!!! Each group is a different scare also!!! Then once inside, we saw Isac! Isac came up to Karen and made lots of loud noises and even scared us with his taser! I think Isac did a wonderful job of using the darkness to scare others.
It was finally our time to walk into the haunt and we were told the rules, BUT instead of the normal rules he told us one different rule…that we were to go to the HR department. The HR department is usually pretty scary, because you are usually in trouble! As soon as we walked into the first room, we already saw new changes. This isnt the only room they switched up, they had multiple rooms that they have added. While walking through the factory, you can REALLY smell the factory smells. They did a great job of adding smells to go along with the props. One room I want to talk about is the bathroom area. As we walked through the bathroom, we saw toilets, showers, and even a drinking fountain that worked! I was really impressed with the way they made the bathroom! The bathrooms even had running water! They had toilets stacked on top of each other until they reached the ceiling. I was so impressed by the detail! Another thing I was impressed with was the character who went from one room to the office! She did a great job of scaring all the people from room to room! It is not easy to work two rooms but this girl was not going to let that stop her! I was really proud of her!
Next, we went from school to work! While going to school I really noticed the detail in the room such as the school room had chairs stacked all the way to the ceiling. I just relized Midnight Terror really likes sticking stuff all the way up to the ceiling. As we walked into the ice cream shop, and we saw ice cream, cotton candy and sweets everywhere. We did relize they are not keeping up health code because there was alot of dirty dishes in the sink. I give this ice cream shop one star for not keeping his shop clean!! As we were walking out of the ice cream shop, the owner asked Karen what ice cream she wanted. She said chocolate just as he also said, “Who likes chocolate? Maybe I should make you into ice cream!!!!”.
Next we went into the doctors cave & he was sticking a foot into the patient’s chest (a quick background information, Karen is an undergraduate student who is majoring in pre Med). So while the doctor was sticking a foot into the patient’s chest, Karen says, “I dont think that this is the correct place to place a foot!”. Then the doctor says, “well dont tell anyone else then!!”, then proceeded to ask Karen, “do you know what a pulumbus lungus is?” and Karen didnt know. (She’s only an undergraduate after all).
One last room we have to talk about is when we walked into a living room with a girl hanging on the wall. The room changed colors and suddenly the girl was possessed. What made this so crazy is the floor turned red like you were standing over hell!!! Us talking about it does not do this room justice!!! You have to experience this one for yourself. We did end up in a conga line at one point, but this did not stop the actors from performing. These actors interacted with you as the line was moving slow. They didnt pop out and that was it….no, they kept the show going. We saw them catch people off gaurd and scare the living crap out of them in the conga line. Again they kept the show going and didnt let no conga line stop them. Great job to the Midnight Terror actors for doing such a wonderful job.
Midnight Terror is always changing. As we talked to the owner Justin, he said he wants to always change multiple rooms so you are always getting a new experience when you visit Midnight Terror. Also, the design of the rooms are so detailed, you will not see every detail with one walk through. You have to just stand there and look at every detail the Midnight Terror crew did. Plus some of the room designs have actors doing above scares when you least expect it. So check out Midnight Terror in Oak Lawn and face your worst nightmare!!!
