The Massacre Haunted House review
The Massacre Haunted House is located at 299 Montgomery Rd, Montgomery, IL 60538 Tickets for General admission tickets are $25 and fast pass tickets are $30.This is our first year at Massacre, so we were very excited to check it out. As we were waiting in line, we met Bubbles, who was very fun to talk to and very entertaining. Next we met Lucky, whose makeup was amazing! There was this one actor who got on top of a table, and had a fire extinguisher that sprayed smoke into the crowd. I thought that was pretty cool. I’ve never seen a haunt do that before.
We finally got into the haunt, which was 3 houses, and to get through it all took about 20 minutes. I’m not going to spoil anything and take the surpise from the Massacre, but I will say what stood out. There was this doll room and it was amazing. The detail they put into this room was awesome! Good job, guys! One of our reviewers freaked out when we walked into this room, and wanted to get out of the room as quickly as he could. The 3D haunt…let me just say I love 3D haunts. To me they are so different and unique. The Massacre did not disappoint with their 3D. We got to this one part of the 3D haunt where there was this girl dressed as a clown….well, I thought it was a girl. It was a guy dressed as a girl clown and when he asked me if I thought he was a girl, man, he let me know and had all of us laughing so hard! This guy was the high-light of the night. If I had to say something that needs work about the haunt it would be the last part of the haunt. I don’t know what the theme was to it, but there wasn’t really much to look at. Yeah, there was some actors, but not alot. There were maybe six of them. I really didn’t care for it. Beside that Massacre is good haunt to go check out for yourselves. There was stuff inside the haunt that was just like “Wow, that’s cool!” So I really don’t want to spoil anything for you. So go check out the Massacre Haunted House in 299 Montgomery Rd, Montgomery, IL 60538. for tickets go to http://fearthemassacre.com/
House of Torment Haunted House review
House of Torment Haunted House is located at 8240 Austin Ave. Morton Grove, IL 60053. Tickets for General admission cost differently depending on what day you go ranging anywhere from $19 to $30 on the night you go plus taxes. Fast Pass gets you too the front of your line faster for $10 more than General admission for that night. Skip the Line tickets mean exactly what they say for $20 plus regular admission. First thing in line we see is this garbage demon guy with a red eye that walk up to us and want’s to know, “what’s with the book? What you got there?” We explain that we are part of Halloween Blast’s review team. After that he wandered off to scare some more people. This blind cheerleader chick comes up and is sniffing my friend. It was weirder because she had no eyes that I could see. She also was making this awful croaking, sniffling, coughing, bronchitis like sound that was weird. We all had a few favorites in the first part of the haunt. They had one hallway where we thought mosquito’s or something had gotten in but they had a bunch of thin black string you can’t see with the light flickering. Also at a point we could barely hear anything the music was so loud, and when I mentioned so…best…timed…fog…horn…EVER!!! I couldn’t stop laughing for the time it took to walk through 2 other rooms!!! Walking into the hoarders house (I really have nothing else to describe it as) some rotund little hag jumped up from under a table stacked high with literally everything but a sink and scared the hell out of my friend. One of the coolest things was the Red Line train rocking like the actual thing as you went through it. That was about the end of house 1. House 2 starts with another short line where Charles the Butler asks you riddles. If you get them right, you get a small bag of candy. Immediately in this door, the cheerleader from before gets me from the blinds. You’re really not expecting someone to reach through something flat against a wall. This house had a mirror maze with curved mirrors in it that really throws off your brain. We all had to stay close to a wall so we didn’t run into one. Coolest room in this half? Wide open room, densely fogged, very slow strobe that flashes for ½ a second. You’re liable to scare yourself in this room. You go through a library maze that’s extremely intricate, and I’m pretty sure they moved the chairs blocking your path a few times to circle you around. One of the last things I remember was this giant animatronic demonic ram’s skull twice the size of me lunging out of a hole in the wall. This didn’t scare me, but my god was that awesome!!! Best part was, even when you try to leave they aren’t done with you. Had an actor that was eyeing my friend before we went into the haunt come knee skiing by from behind us on knee pads just to scare my friend. Talk about dedication!!! I think it is so cool that this year was mainly made up of new actors. This was their first year of acting and man did they pull it off!!! Nice job guys!!! Was this haunt worth the money? YES!!! Would we come back to this haunt? Definitely. Just asked a few friends if they want to go there with us again actually. 10/10 guys!!! You’re doing it right!!! for tickets go to http://www.houseoftormentchicago.com/
Evil Intentions review
So this is our fourth year at Evil Intentions. Everytime we go to Evil Intentions, it never disappoints. Now there are years that a haunt won’t do as well as the year before. I have never felt that with them. This year was no different as they nailed it once again. The price for this haunt is $25 and fast pass is $35. Evil Intentions is located at 900 Grace St, Elgin, IL 60120.
As we waited outside, they had a lot of actors. The haunt wasn’t open yet, we got there early. The actors were playful and some…not so playful. The doors open and we waited in the waiting room. There wasn’t that many actors in the waiting room but they still kept you entertained. They had on actor climbing all over the cages in the waiting room. I very surprised that this actor did not break his legs while jumping down from the cage. Not once, but multiple times.
We finally get into the haunt and the first thing they do is give your soul to the darkness by doing a ritual. I know what you’re thinking.. does something happen? Well I can’t say, but man it was awesome! Guess you are just going to have to see for yourself. Next, we went on a elevator to the underworld and man I love when haunts do the elevator ride. To me it’s so cool how every haunt does it different. The man operating the elevator tells you to hang on to the railing and he not playing when he says hold on to the railing! It’s a bumpy ride. As we walk through the haunt a lot of stuff stood out. The actors are so good! They would be hiding places you wouldn’t even think of looking. Their acting was amazing. For example, when you get into the doctor’s rooms, (sorry I don’t know what to call it) every single room has an actor that wants a body part and they explain why they need that part. Like one lady wants your hair to put on her doll. Then another one will say “I need your skin, because mine was burned off”. They just don’t just say “oh, give me your teeth”. No they tell you WHY, and you have to open your mouth and they say if they want want your teeth or not. Yes, some haunts do this, but Evil Intentions kind does different interactions with the people throughout the haunt, which is awesome! All I can say is great job to the actors. Keep it up guys!
So part of the haunt is they have a maze that you have to find a way out; and yes, if you don’t pick the right way you will get lost. They also have this room filled with weeping angels. What makes this room so great is you don’t know who is real and who is fake. It messes with your mind. They had this room last year, but they put more mannequins in there to mess with you even more.
This haunt took us 30 minutes to get through. This haunt just throws one good thing after another at you. I came here for the first time 4 years ago. From then to now, there such a big difference. They keep getting better every year. This haunt is a must visit haunt. There is so much to say about what happens inside the haunt, but it’s just one of those haunts that reading a review on it makes you want to go there and experience it for yourself. for tickets go to https://eihaunt.com/
13 floor haunted house review
Once again we come back to 13 Floors for the 3rd year. I love that the decor has not changed. They still have the angel of death above their gate. That was always my favorite part. This thing is HUGE and I have no idea how they keep the thing mounted. AND it moves!!! There aren’t a lot of people here because it’s a Tuesday and they just opened. It’s also Hells Week, which means all haunts are open every night up to Halloween. Because of it being a tuesday, you could tell they didn’t have as many actors as there were supposed to be with all the awesome hiding spots that weren’t being used. There were a few empty rooms through the haunt. One of the rooms should have had somebody in there cause it’s one of the rooms you remember really well. They had lasers set along the walls to make fog look like it hovered. When we got to the other side I ducked under to see if there had been anyone underneath waiting to pop up. Not a soul was in that room with us. I was kinda disapointed. The other room I really like is the tilted room where you have to hold on to the banister to go up and around. There was this guy with a demon ram mask the came charging up from the center of the room from in the shadows. Good play!!! The most fun I had was the decor where they had a gargoyle that crouched on a pillar the would turn and lean and growl at you as you walked by. I actually thought it was an actor at first until I stopped for a second for a double take. I would definitely come back here on a weekend when everyone’s at full throttle. Good job guys!!! http://www.13thfloorchicago.com/
