Basement of the Dead Disturbia Haunted House Hayride of Horror

13th floor (blackout)

  • Posted by admin in empty on September 26th, 2023

Blackout is a 1-day event where monsters and mayhem lurk in total darkness. Upon arriving, each group (not each person) is given one glow stick. Venturing into the depths of darkness, a horde of monsters roam freely. You may catch a glimpse of them under the glow of black lights, but don’t let them see you first, as they may steal your glow stick leaving you in the dark.

Dungeon of Doom (sub-thermal Nightmare)

Dates: December 15 and 16

Time: 7pm-11pm

Sub-Thermal Nightmare is unlike any winter event you’ve experienced. The Legendary dungeon of doom haunted house has been hit by a freak blizzard, creating a frozen wasteland where everyone is left to fight for shelter from this hellish storm. However, no one could have prepared for what the storm brought with it.
This two night only event will completely transform the entire  legendary dungeon of doom haunted house into something unrecognizable. Our entire attraction will have hell frozen over, entirely new characters, a unique “gateway” show, a unique “buried Alive” show,  and every room will be transformed into a frozen wasteland creating a drastically different environment and experience.

Massacre Haunted House

  • Posted by admin in empty on November 5th, 2019

Halloween Blast went to Massacre Haunted House, located at 299 Montgomery Road, Montgomery Illinois 60538. By the way! They have free parking in a parking lot in front of the haunt. They are located in a small strip mall, so there is a lot of extra space for parking as well. General admission tickets are $25.99, Fast Pass Online is $35.99, and buying a Fast Pass on-site is $39.99.

When you get in line, you will see all these creatures wandering around. You might even run into our good friend Bobo! If he really likes you, he might even give you a cool sticker! Also, you may run into Stikky Mouse. If you call him Mickey Mouse, you will be in big trouble! Stikky Mouse is really entertaining. He made us worship the devil and he asked us what our sins were. My boss confessed that I pushed over Japes (from Lost Souls Chicago, he is good friends with a lot of people at Massacre). Stikky Mouse berated me for pushing over Japes! As soon as that happened, he had everyone started chanting “Japes pusher” at me!

As you walk through the haunt, beware of the goat! If you get too close it will BITE! Something funny I found was Pinchie the clown. You better show him some love! Pinchie the clown made David say I love you and he didn’t say it loud enough so he made David scream it so the world could hear him. A really cool thing they have is a 3D room I love how everything sticks out. I won’t say anymore because you have to see it for yourself but 1 thing I wish they had was plastic glasses not paper. Paper glasses had a hard time of staying on my face. So try your best to keep your glasses on.Also beware of the slithering demon he has a really long tongue. He might slither along the walls and scare you if you don’t catch him first. Also be sure to wear comfortable shoes you will be walking on uneven ground and bridges that move. This haunt was very interactive and I really enjoyed that a lot. I definitely laughed and got scared. I hope you enjoy this haunt as much as I did.

Hells Gate review

  • Posted by admin in empty on October 31st, 2019

Halloween Blast visited Hells Gate Haunted house this Sunday. Hells Gate is located at 1300 South State St., Lockport IL 60441. This is actually the address for the metra lot nearby. To get to Hells Gate, on has to get on the buses provided there that take you a few blocks over and through the woods to the haunt itself. General admission is $30, VIP is $45, Instant Access is $65, and for $99 they will target one individual in your group to kidnap (yes, you get to pick who!). There are more deals for you to look into if you wish at https://www.hellsgate.com/tickets.html

Straight off the bus, we ran into Madam Boona. She was super Excited to see us as always and even showed me her newest ensemble piece. She now has a new sash about her waist that is a champagne color with embossed roses on it. I personally think this is one of the prettiest pieces she has worn yet.  We had already been forewarned that their cemetery had gone underwater due to the heavy rain the night before, and would be going straight up to the house after the woods scene. Not going to linger on the woods scene to long as it is mostly popouts to get you geared up for the house.

Talking about the haunt, something I noticed that was new was the twins not only greet you at the beginning, they are now also in their room. When we came through the room, both girls were facing the mirror and at first I mistook them for mannequins. It wasn’t until I turned back to say something to my crewmate that I saw them no longer by the mirror and up in another crewmate’s face hissing and spitting. I remember stopping dead and just staring. I then dumbly said, “Oh…they’re REAL.” You know you did good when a reviewer who’s been through your haunt a few times gets OWNED!

Another room we come to I’ll call the animal room because they have so many tanks full of different animals here. We walked in and here is Madam Boona sitting in a chair reading some autopsy report book or such. She just looks up at us and wants to know where we had been because she had lost us. Throughout the haunt, she had been popping in and out of rooms following our progress, and I highly doubt she actually lost us at any point the minx.

We end up in a short line in this room where the person running the line has a snake over their shoulders. Yes, a real, live snake. Being the animal person I am, you know I couldn’t just leave the room without asking to pet her. I believe is was some form of boa with white and tan coloring. She was so smooth and she was very curious about me too. She kept trying to taste my hand and her handler had to keep moving her head away.

We finally are let through and we go up a flight of stairs that leads to a giant slide. I remember I had my clipboard that night and trying to figure out how I was going to slide and hold onto it at the same time. Thankfully, my crewmate took it and put it in his coat so I could enjoy the ride down to the basement.

Now down in the basement, that’s the good stuff. This is where you will find the dragons keep. We all have this odd fascination with the dragons here and always tend to linger in this room a little to long to gently pat all their snouts. They are magnificent beasts, but are not the only ones in the haunt. Near the very end there is another little guy who I swear looks just like Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. Can’t forget to give this little guy some pats to you know?

Every year I come here expecting something new, and Hells Gate never fails to deliver. Even if it’s not something huge, I always notice the small details they change. As all other years Halloween Blast has visited, they did an amazing job. I’m looking forward to going again next year.

Soul Reaper review

  • Posted by admin in empty on October 31st, 2019

Halloween Blast went to Soul Reaper located at 30820 111th st. Wilmot, WI. 53192. They are located in Kenosha County fairgrounds. There is free parking located on the premises of the haunted house. General admission tickets are $15 online and $17 at the gate and VIP Fast Pass is $23 online, $25 at the gate.

While we waited in line we were entertained by two clowns who did such a great job acting. They are VERY good at playing off what the other said. One of them even danced up against the Halloween Blast owner, which is always pretty amusing to watch. They even talked about clown condoms!

All your biggest fears are in this house! Well actually, instead of 1 giant haunted house…they have 4 haunted houses! They are the Mansion, Asylum, the Abyss And Underworld. In the mansion, watch out for the lady in red. She may invite you to kindly stay for dinner, but the dinner doesn’t look too tasty.

In the Asylum, we met doctors who asked what our issue was so they could figure out how to diagnose us. In the corner was a girl who was very giggly! One of the inmates told me to enter a room then locked me in! There was a window in the cell where the owner of the haunt was watching me from the other side. Then all of the sudden, two inmates ran into the room and locked me inside WITH them! This was pretty scary, but after a while they let me go.

The third haunted house was the Abyss. In the Abyss, all I saw was bugs all over the walls and I got the creeps! Everything was really dark, and I saw a green portal I was really curious about but scared to look under because I didn’t know what was going to pop out at me.

The last haunted house was the Underworld!  The Underworld was like walking through a catacombs, but with cells. The design and attention to detail in the Underworld is amazing! It made us feel like we were walking through a real catacombs. The Underworld had a queen, and her…well, what rhymes with witch and starts with a B? The queen was very interactive! She even sniffed me and everyone else who was walking by! She is not afraid to get up in your face. This house was so interactive and so fun! I recommend this haunted house if you want to see your fears come alive!
